Event Details

As fall finally rolls around, the time is perfect for to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. Join Ranger Darby at Bradley County Public Library at 2pm for a discussion of some of the basics of camping and how you can enjoy nature and ensure that we protect our surroundings for future people to enjoy as well. Through the principle of Leave No Trace, we'll learn how to best set up your camp, fire safety, and how to best protect ourselves and wildlife as you go out and explore the greater Appalachian area we call home.

Ocoee River State Park is home to the internationally recognized whitewater sites along the "Mighty Ocoee" River. Tennessee State Parks began managing the river in 1984, along with the Hiwassee Scenic River, creating the Hiwassee/Ocoee River State Park. In 2025, the park split into the Hiwassee Scenic River State Park and the Ocoee River State Park to provide more dedicated resources to each area.
