Volunteering

  • Volunteering at Tennessee State Parks

Throughout the year, there are many Tennessee State Park events that ask for and rely on volunteer help.

From trail maintenance to invasive plant pulls, volunteering at Tennessee State Parks is needed and valued. You may be asked to complete an adult volunteer liability waiver or a minor consent form. If so, please refer to our volunteer management portal for more information.

      Weed Wrangle - March 7, 2026

Volunteer with Tennessee State Parks during our annual Weed Wrangle event and help restore native habitats across the state. Participants work with Park Rangers to remove invasive plants, protect local ecosystems, and keep our trails and green spaces healthy. All skill levels are welcome, and tools are provided - just bring sturdy shoes, water, and a willingness to get outdoors!

      Special or Private Groups

Don't see an opportunity that fits your group's needs or prefer a private group opportunity?

Fill out our Group Volunteer Request Form. Completing this form is not a guarantee the opportunity can be scheduled. Please wait to hear from the park or the volunteer program to discuss your request and/or confirm your event. Requests made under four weeks are less likely to be considered.

      Nashville Requests

Our Nashville area parks receive a lot of love for private workday requests and we appreciate that.  Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate all of them and ask you to consider traveling a little further to serve. Our handy map link within the request form can help you see those options. If getting to these sites is impracticable for your group, allow a three-month lead time for any Nashville area park requests.

      Youth Organizations

Youth organizations or groups with minors and children under 16-years-old, must have adult supervision. We ask that there be one adult assigned for every ten children under the age of 16.
