Meet at the Pack Hallow Trailhead on August 27th at 7 PM for a 3 mile guided hike during our full moon. We will be hiking on the Sherwood Day Loop Trail, which is a beginner-level trail. We will hike the entire loop, getting the opportunity to watch the sunset as well as the emergence of the full moon. We will have the opportunity to talk about wildlife, wildlife adaptations, geology, and much more. The state park will provide headlamps for this hike, however feel free to supply your own light. We do recommend sturdy hiking shoes as well as at least 32 oz of water for this hike.

1-888-867-2757Head of the Crow State Park, located in Franklin County, spans 4,258 acres. The park contains the headwaters of Crow Creek and offers a karst landscape sprawling with hardwood forests, caves, sinkholes, and rare wildlife. Highlights include the Sewanee Natural Bridge, a 50-foot sandstone arch that frames Lost Cove, and Buggytop Cave, one of the largest cave openings in Tennessee. The park is also home to the extremely rare Painted Tigersnail, found only within a 10-mile radius of the area.
