Event Details

Start from basics with learning how to shoot archery. This class uses the National Archery in School Program's framework for teaching archery to school age students. Join our NASP class to learn the ins and outs of competition shooting and start building your hours needed to participate in NASP archery competitions.

All materials are including in the cost of the program, including bows and arrow. Personal bows are allowed but must have less than a 20lb draw weight. Practice-tip aluminum arrows will be provided.

While this is a NASP style teaching program, students are not required to become a NASP member to participate in these programs. More information on NASP below.

This program is recommended for school age children. Adults are welcome to join as well but are ineligible for NASP program. It is recommended that adults join our beginner archery programs that do not follow NASP competition style teachings.

It is recommended that kids be at least 9 years old OR able to pull a 5lbs draw weight bow. Please see the attached Essential Eligibility Criteria for more information on program requirements.

NASP (National Archery in Schools Program) is designed to teach kids how to shoot archery in a competition-based way that encourages safe and fun use of archery equipment. By participating in NASP programs through Henry Horton State Park, students are eligible to participate in state competitive archery tournaments once they have completed 10 hours of NASP instruction/practice.
