Campfire Starting and Building!

Meet at the Gee Creek Amphitheater located next to the boat ramp.

Join Interpretive Ranger Andy for an educational and peaceful evening around the campfire. We will begin by going over various ways to construct a campfire, how to use flint and steel, as well as tips and tricks to make things easier! Afterwards, we will be making s’mores and hanging out around the fire we have created! Make sure to bring camp chairs and bug spray for yourself and family, and a flashlight/headlamp for when we put out the fire. All ages are welcome!

Hiwassee Scenic River State Park is a natural wonder, offering visitors an abundance of recreational opportunities. In 1968, the 23-mile section of the Hiwassee Scenic River was designated as the first managed river as part of the Tennessee State Scenic River Program. The river is considered a Class III partially developed river, making it a more intermediate paddling and rafting opportunity. The park is known for its excellent opportunities for rafting, canoeing, kayaking, birding, fishing, and camping, making it the park where visitors return to time and time again.
