Event Details

Visit Sabine Hill State Historic Site for a unique after-hours candlelight tour of the historic Taylor House. Learn about 18th and early 19th century funeral customs, superstitions, mourning attire, funeral food, and much more. Pay your respects to the deceased at the wake and meet historically dressed interpreters throughout the house and grounds as they demonstrate the customs and professions associated with death, mourning & funerals in Early America. Content may be too graphic for younger visitors. Parental discretion is advised. 

Plan to arrive 10 - 15 minutes prior to your tour start time in order to check in.

Please note that only portable restroom facilities are available at this time.
