Event Details

As the sun sets, a hidden world awakens. Join Ranger Graham at Roan Mountain State Park for an evening exploration into the fascinating lives of moths and other nocturnal pollinators.

Participants will learn how moths contribute to pollination, how to identify common local species, and why these often-overlooked insects are vital to forest ecosystems. Using a moth sheet and light attraction station, guests will observe live moths up close while learning about their adaptations, behaviors, and ecological roles.

Time: 9:30 PM

Where: Amphitheater

Please bring water, insect repellent, and dress appropriately for evening temperatures outdoors.
