    Go Green With Us Program

We protect and preserve our state parks through resource conservation, sustainable operations, and recycling.

The Go Green With Us program began in 2015 as a recycling initiative. Since then, it has grown to include sustainable improvements like installing energy-efficient lighting and appliances, adding pollinator gardens, creating composting programs, and adding more recycling options for visitors. In 2017, a comprehensive guideline was developed to steer parks toward sustainability in all their operations. In 2018, we had the first Go Green With Us recognition awards ceremony. Today, every park is recognized for their efforts.

Go Green With Us Recognition Awards

There are five levels of achievement for the Go Green With Us recognition awards: Silver, Bronze, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. As parks implement more Go Green Guidelines over time, they climb the tiers of sustainability. In addition to our state park recognitions, many parks gain certifications and recognition by partnering with other programs.

    Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation partnered with Rivian to install Rivian Waypoint EV charging stations at select state parks across Tennessee.

State parks with Rivian chargers offer two Level 2 chargers compatible with all EV models currently on the road. The open network charges provide up to 11.5 kW of power. EV charging stations will initially be free; however, fees may be required at some point. Drivers will be able to use the Rivian app to monitor their charging session. Charging station locations may be found using the map below.
