Harrison Bay State Park is home to numerous habitats, from rocky forests to lush river bottoms, and serves as a crucial riparian buffer zone along Chickamauga Lake. However, parklands today look quite different than they did 100 years ago.

Join Interpretative Rangers on a 2-hour long guided paddle around Bay Point Loop as we explore habitats and look at how they have changed over time.

While we will not be entering open water, this will be a longer paddle that is not advisable for first-time paddlers. If you are interested in learning to kayak or canoe, consider signing up for a Paddling 101 program first! You must be 16 or older to register or be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Please bring water, sunscreen, water protective bag (a ziplock bag will do) and clothes you don't mind getting wet. Both kayak and canoes will be available. If you are bringing a friend, consider a 2-seater kayak or canoe! If you already have paddling gear (boat, lifejacket, etc) feel free to use them. We will have lifejackets, boats, and paddles, as well as a few dry bags.

Directions:

Rangers will be at the Harrison Bay Beach parking lot, located at the end of Campground Rd. When entering the park, keep right and go to the end of the road. It will dead end at our meeting point.
