Event Details

It is our pleasure to announce Cummins Falls State Park Junior Ranger day camps. Curriculum is designed for children ages 6 to 12. Programs help children build a better relationship with the great outdoors and have fun, while learning. There are two separate camps this year. Jr. Ranger camp will be held over several days starting at 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Parents do not have to stay with their child and may drop off but are welcome to stay throughout the day as well. This camp is Monday June 8th - Thursday, June 11th, 2026. Some topics that may be covered are the following: Safety, Birds of Prey, Reptiles & Amphibians, History, Geology, Stream Ecology, and Plants. Programs will include various hikes, games, crafts and more!!!

Jr. Ranger campers need to wear sturdy shoes for hiking and water shoes or old tennis shoes to get in the creek for the water hike. Campers should apply sunscreen before arrival and bring sunscreen, a hat and a small backpack to carry stuff in. Insect repellent and a camera are also recommended. Please bring snacks and Drinking Water.

Parents/guardians are welcome to volunteer and be part of the camp experience. The cost of the camp is $40 per child all fees go toward the cost of the camp, supplies and t-shirts. Financial aid is available for those who cannot afford the cost of camp. (Contact Ranger Lauren) Each camp is limited to the 25 campers. First come first served.

IMPORTANT: After you have registered your child, you will receive a registration packet via e-mail from a Cummins Falls Ranger. You must have this completed to participate.

Discover the rugged beauty of Cummins Falls State Park, encompassing 457 acres in the hills of Jackson County. The park's namesake, Cummins Falls, is a breathtaking 75-foot waterfall that plunges into a natural swimming pool. Visitors can hike to scenic overlooks, explore the unique geology of the area, and wade in the refreshing waters of Blackburn Fork State Scenic River.
