Get ready for an unforgettable outdoor adventure!

Junior Ranger Camp 2025 at Rock Island State Park is a consists of three half day hands-on experiences designed for kids ages 8-14 who love nature, history, and exploration. Junior Rangers will dive into the wonders of the natural world by visiting three of the most unique areas Tennessee has to offer, Bone Cave and Cardwell Mountain State Natural Areas and Rock Island State Park.

Each day brings new adventures! Activities include exploring the landscape both above and below ground at Bone Cave State Natural Area, visiting pre-historic mounds and petroglyphs at Cardwell Mountain State Natural Area, paddling, swimming, and fishing at Rock Island State Park all led by Park Rangers. Campers will also gain valuable skills in outdoor safety, conservation, and teamwork, earning their official Junior Ranger badge at the end of the week!

Whether your child is a budding biologist, a future Park Ranger, a history buff, or just curious about the great outdoors, this camp is a perfect way to spark a lifelong love of nature. Discover the rugged beauty of Rock Island State Park, encompassing over 2,000 acres at the headwaters of Center Hill Lake. This park is a natural wonderland where the Caney Fork River, the Collins River, and the Rocky River converge, creating stunning waterfalls and geological features. Visitors can explore scenic overlooks, hike along the Caney Fork River gorge, and discover the rich history of the area.
