Less than a century ago, the Lone Rock Stockade stood near Grundy Lakes and was the site of horrific abuse and conditions for those forced to work there. Today we are picking back up the pieces and learning how to look history in the eye and honor the people who lived, and often died, at the Stockade.

The park is composed of approximately 7,811 acres and boasts some of the best hiking and backcountry camping in the region. There are lots of areas to explore, including Fiery Gizzard, Denny Cove, and the Historical Grundy Lakes.
