Moth Party!
Montgomery Bell State Park
1020 Jackson Hill Road, Burns, TN 37029 (opens in new tab)Event Details
Come visit seasonal ranger Sage at the Lake Woodhaven Shelter to observe and enjoy some of Tennessee’s native moths.
Moths are bio-indicators, which means they can tell us about the health of the environment around them. This program will discuss moths, their life cycles, and how to identify them.
Park staff will have a sheet with UV light set up from 9:00 pm until 10:00pm which will attract moths and other insects throughout the night. Bring a camp chair, water, and snacks and sit back to watch our nocturnal friends flutter around while we discuss and identify them.
Be prepared to be up close to some insects!
In the case of inclement weather this program will be cancelled
