National Trails Day Hike
Roan Mountain State Park
1015 Hwy 143, Roan Mountain, TN 37687 (opens in new tab)Event Details
Celebrate National Trails Day with Roan Mountain State Park by joining Interpretive Ranger Price along the Raven Rock Trail. Along this 1.3-mile loop, we will have the opportunity to see local flora and fauna as we ascend to the Raven Rock Overlook which offers stunning views of the Roan Valley. The Raven Rock trail is rated as difficult, but is considered by many hikers to be a favorite trail in the park. The trail consists of a gradual 0.5-mile incline to the overlook which may involve hiking over uneven terrain at times. Please come prepared with sturdy hiking shoes, plenty of water, sun protection, and weather-appropriate clothing. Meet at the Park Headquarters next to the Conference Center.
Joining Roan Mountain State Park for the American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day® is your chance to get outdoors, connect with your community, and give back to the trails you love. Celebrate this nationwide movement with Roan Mountain to show your support for the park and enjoy a local trail with others in the community.
