Ruck With a Ranger

Join a ranger for a ruck along the scenic Downstream Trail at Rock Island State Park. This moderately strenuous 1.5-mile hike follows the Downstream Trail, where participants will experience breathtaking views of Twin Falls and the Caney Fork River. This route includes uneven terrain, rocky sections, creek crossings, and approximately seven flights of stairs, making it a great opportunity to build endurance while enjoying the outdoors. Bring a backpack (weighted if you’d like), water, and comfortable walking shoes. Come move, learn, and explore the park with a ranger!
Limited weighted vests and ruck packs are available to borrow for participants traveling without equipment. Availability may vary depending on weight needs. If you would like to request equipment, please contact the park ahead of time so we can try to accommodate you.
In the event of inclement weather, the event may be cancelled, and all attendees will be notified by text message or email, so be sure to provide a good contact when signing up.
