Pickwick Landing State Park

Join us for a week of safe and fun boating on Pickwick Lake. This day camp is for 12-18 year old's that desire to gain experience with a variety of vessels. Campers must take and pass the Tennessee Boater Education Class on the first day of camp. Camp will run from 8am to 4pm each day. Students are expected to bring a sack lunch and water bottle.
During Camp Week:
- Students must attend and pass the Day 1 Tennessee Boater Education Class
- Students will participate in a Day 1 Drowning Prevention and Water Safety Class
- Students will operate the following vessels by performing steering and navigation maneuvers, towing other vessels, and capsize drills: Paddleboard, Canoe, Kayak, Sailboat, Small Power Boat, and Large Power Boat.
- Collect and analyze water quality, and learn how to be environmentally aware boaters.
- Students will graduate by piloting their parent(s) or guardian(s) with a vessel of their choice out on the water. (Instructor will also be present)

Camp instructors will be volunteers and staff trained in Spirit of America curriculum. All volunteers and staff will have completed background checks.
Registration packets and information will be sent to your email upon successful sign-up.
Before camp, students must purchase a type 600 boater ed permit on GoOutdoorsTennessee Website
- Out of state students may take the boater ed class
- Tennessee's boater ed class is a NASBLA approved course and is accepted in most other states
