Event Details

Join Ranger Holly Frerichs for an overnight experience in the back country! This is a beginner friendly workshop for women where we will learn best practices for overnight camping and some survival tactics. The hike to the campsite is about 3.5 miles in and the same route back out. It is a moderate trail. This workshop is open to women and girls 15 and older.

We will meet at 2:00pm to check off the gear list and pack up everyone's bags, then hit the trail after that!

Cost is $65, and if you need gear for this event there is an extra $15 charge. Please choose the appropriate option when registering, and email Ranger Holly Frerichs (holly.frerichs@tn.gov) for what gear is available. A recommended gear list and meeting location will be sent to you once you register. Keep in mind that weather can be unpredictable, so pack appropriately!

Dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday is provided. Snacks and water will also be available for the trip.

Email Ranger Holly Frerichs at holly.frerichs@tn.gov with any questions or tips.

Weather and Cancellation Policy:

If there is a high chance of heavy rain/storms for a large amount of the trip’s planned time period, the trip will be cancelled and full refunds will be issued. If you cancel at least one week before the trip’s start date, you will receive a full refund. Any cancellations prior to November 4th will receive a full refund; November 4th and after will forfeit the registration fee.
