Join Ranger Demetriou for our second annual "Twas the Hike Before Christmas," on the Pioneer Springs Trail. This peaceful morning hike will start promptly at 8:30 AM and offer a chance to connect with nature and enjoy a moment of tranquility before the hustle and bustle of the holiday season begins. We will hike from the trailhead to the active Pioneer Spring and back, which is between 2.5 and 3 miles.
To ensure a comfortable and safe experience, please dress according to the 3 Ws of layering:
- Wicking (Base Layer): Wear a layer close to your skin that wicks away moisture to keep you dry. Materials like wool or synthetics are great choices.
- Warmth (Mid-Layer): Add an insulating layer, such as fleece or a down jacket, to trap body heat and keep you warm.
- Weather (Outer Layer): A waterproof and windproof outer shell will protect you from the elements.
This hike is a perfect opportunity to experience the quiet beauty of the woods in Winter. The trail is well-maintained and suitable for most fitness levels. Please wear sturdy footwear. NO SANDALS OR OPEN TOE SHOES
