Not riding with BRAT? Come explore Tennessee history instead! This ranger led excursion to Sellars Farm State Archaeological Area offers BRAT participants who are not participating in the bike ride a chance to step back in time and discover the story of the Mississippian people who once called this area home.
Participants will explore the archaeological site, learn about the impressive platform mound, and hear about the discoveries that have helped archaeologists piece together the history and culture of this important prehistoric community. The excursion includes approximately 1 mile of hiking over mostly natural and uneven terrain, so comfortable walking shoes and water are recommended.
Please note: There are no permanent restrooms at the site, but a portable toilet (porta potty) will be available.
