Park Venues
Energy Efficiency
Track park-wide energy consumption and upgraded water heaters to more energy efficient tankless water heaters that only heat water as needed.
Reduce Erosion
Park actively prevents erosion in the campground with tent pads which are man-made surfaces that protect the ground from damage caused by repeatedly setting up a tent in the same spot.
Protect Habitats
Enhance the cedar glade ecosystems through beekeeping and butterfly gardens that are maintained by Master Gardeners. The park is a Certified Monarch Waystation Site which means it meets the needs of monarch butterflies as they migrate across North America.
Eco-Friendly Practices
Installed strategically placed trash and recycling dumpsters, removing all individual trash cans and placing signs to inform visitors of the locations. Fewer trashcans result in fewer trashcan liners needed, meaning less waste and decreased associated cost.
