Event Details

Join Ranger Jack in a hike through Bledsoe Creek State Park's Connector, High Ridge, and Shoreline Trails going over hiking etiquette, safety, mindset, and useful information when hiking in general as well as within Tennessee State Parks.

This program will be a 2.4-mile hike starting at the Connector Trail trailhead across the street from the Visitor Center and will continue through the rest of the High Ridge Trail as well as the entirety of the Shoreline Trail where a short walk through a small portion of the Mayo Wix trail will return to the Visitor Center. Park maps will be provided and are complimentary to all visitors.

The fee for this program provides you with both the hiking experience and information as well as your choice of trail blaze normally used for marking trails on the park. These blazes are not the same as the ones for sale in the Visitor Center that are smaller and have a magnet (and are great souvenirs) - the trail blazes used on the trails and provided by participating in this program are larger and normally not available to anyone other than park staff, so this is a unique item to receive! These blazes are limited to one per participant for this program. These blazes are available in red, white, blue, yellow, green, orange, and brown. The colors of the blazes correspond with the color of the trails indicated on the park map.

Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable footwear that is suitable for hiking, bring plenty of water (snacks as well if desired), eat before participating, and ensure any dogs brought along for the program are leashed and controlled at all times. If bringing younger participants, ensure they are capable of fully participating in the hike. This hike is 2.4 miles in length, is not paved, and consists entirely of uneven terrain and uphill/downhill grades.
