East Tennessee was once home to vast Mississippian and Cherokee towns. Students will learn about Indigenous art and agriculture through hands-on activities, and understand how early settlers adapted to living in Tennessee.
- Mississippian-style gorget craft with clay
- Cherokee fishing techniques
- Animal pelts and market hunting on the Tennessee frontier
- Planting a Three Sisters garden
- Blowgun demonstration
Registration is limited to 25 students. Children 0-4 are welcome to attend but do not need to be registered. The program will be held inside the Rec Hall. When entering the park, keep right on Campground Rd. and follow signs for Rec Hall.
