Event Details

Have you ever wanted to learn how to weave? Join SIR Lexie for a beginner friendly program on how to weave a cloth.

This program is fun for all ages! Children 8 and younger may need the assistance of an adult.

Weaving is an ancient skill used to make textiles! This craft would have been done by hand to make clothing or other fabric items. Learning skills like weaving is a fun way to explore what life would have been like before modern machinery.

This program will begin with a quick tour of the cabin to view a real barn loom that would have been used by Cordell Hull's mother. Then we will jump right in to our project with beginner friendly materials. The program will take approximately one hour and is free! Donations are always welcome.

All materials will be provided by the park. For more information on how to prepare, please see the Essential Eligibility Criteria below.

In the event of inclement weather, the program will be canceled.
