Seven Islands Natural and Cultural History Hike
Meeting Place
Bluebird BarnEvent Details
Seven Islands has only been a Tennessee State Park since 2014, but the story of this land began long before it became a place for recreation and conservation. Join Ranger Clare for a hike along Kelly Lane and the French Broad River to explore the people, places, and natural features that have shaped the landscape over time. Along the way, we’ll visit historic structures, learn about the families who lived and worked here, and discover how native plants, wildlife, and the river influenced life on this land. This hike offers a closer look at the connections between natural and cultural history that make Seven Islands such a special place.
This program is recommended for adults and older children interested in local history, nature, and hiking. Please meet at Bluebird Barn at 2:00 PM. Be prepared to walk about 3 miles over both paved and unpaved surfaces. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria.
The cost of this program is $8 per participant. Children under 5 are free with a paying adult.
Please come prepared with good walking shoes, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Dress for the weather and be prepared for an outdoor hike.
