    At Tennessee State Parks, we serve a variety of visitors, including individuals with physical disabilities and those who may face other barriers to outdoor recreation. With a focus on accessibility, we continually strive to enhance our parks to better accommodate all visitors.     Adult-Size Changing Tables

    Discover comfort and convenience at Tennessee State Parks with our newly introduced adult-sized changing tables. Designed to enhance accessibility, these changing tables cater to the diverse needs of our visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment for individuals of all ages and abilities.   

    Located at the Visitor Center, each table at Fiery Gizzard State Park utilizes a remote to adjust the height of the table. This table lowers to approximately 12 inches off the ground and reaches a height of 39.5 inches when raised.

    Foster Falls Overlook

    Tucked away behind the picnic area, take in a gorgeous view of Foster Falls at our accessible overlook.

    From the Fiery Gizzard South Trailhead, travel out and back across the paved sidewalk and a boardwalk through the trees. The boardwalk is wheelchair-friendly but has a few areas where the boards are worn, creating divots in the path. 

    Fishing Pier at Grundy Lakes

    Cast your line and enjoy the view at the wooden fishing pier. The historic Grundy Lakes are stocked annually by the TWRA, making it a great spot for catching bass and catfish. The pier is wheelchair-accessible and includes areas where the railing is lowered. Paved sidewalk access connects the fishing pier to accessible parking and wheelchair-friendly restrooms.

    The Visitor Center Pavilion is wheelchair-friendly, including nearby parking and restrooms.

    The Visitor Center Pavilion has access to bathrooms, a grill, a water spigot, and various recreational sports areas, including a basketball court, beach volleyball, a tennis court, and a playground.

    There is a $5 cancellation fee for picnic shelter or pavilion reservations canceled eight days or more in advance of the reserved date. Reservations canceled seven days or less in advance of the reserved date forfeit all paid fees.

    Foster Falls Placeholder

    The Foster Falls Pavilion includes a wheelchair-accessible table and charcoal grill, along with sidewalk access to accessible parking, restrooms, and a water fountain. A few wheelchair-friendly picnic tables are also available in this area. 

    Overnight Accommodations

    Keep in mind that limited numbers of ADA-accessible lodge rooms, cabins, and campsites are available, so it is best to make reservations as far in advance as possible. For those who require ADA-accessible accommodation when staying overnight, it is important to make a specific request when booking a reservation and contact us directly at 1-888-867-2757 to reserve an ADA-accessible accommodation.

    The Foster Falls Campground is wheelchair-friendly, including 4 campsites and a bathhouse.

    Fiery Gizzard Foster Falls Campground

    The Foster Falls Campground is the only camping area in the park where guests may park a car and/or small pop-ups next to the campsite. 

    The Foster Falls campground offers primitive campsites ideal for tents or small trailers, with a maximum occupancy of six per site. These campsites do not offer water or electricity, but a restroom and heated showers are available. No gas generators are allowed at the Foster Falls Campground. 

    The campground is open year-round. All sites have a fire ring and a picnic table. Most sites are wooded, offering some shade, and have a level, gravel surface. A few are on a slight incline. All tents and small campers must be placed on the dedicated camping pad.
