9-11 Ruck With a Ranger

Join Ranger Hannah at Rock Island State Park for a 5K memorial ruck honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and remembering the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, military members, and everyday citizens who answered the call to serve in its aftermath.
Participants will walk the Collins River Loop while carrying a rucksack or backpack as a symbol of the burdens carried by those who stepped forward to protect and serve others. Participants of all fitness levels are welcome, and there is no required amount of weight to participate.
Whether you are an experienced rucker, a first responder, a veteran, or simply someone who wants to remember, we invite you to walk with us as we honor the past and remember the sacrifices made in service to others.
A limited number of vests and rucking backpacks will be available to borrow. Please email Ranger Hannah at hannah.gaines@tn.gov to request one before the event.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
