Park Happenings
Bug Sheets - Bug and Moth Identification (Reserved Campsites only)
Bledsoe Creek State Park
400 Zieglers Fort Road, Gallatin, TN 37066 (opens in new tab)Event Details
Ever wondered what the variety of bugs and moths are that surround your exterior lights at night? In this program, you can find out!
Using UV black lights cast on a white sheet, these light-attracted insects, much like your porch lights illuminating at nighttime, will land on the sheet and allow us to identify them!
Due to the time of day necessary to conduct this program, this program is available only to campers when the park is closed to the public.
This program will take place in the greenway area between the Rabbit Jump and Woodchuck Hollow areas of the campground, near the playground on Rabbit Jump. Depending on the number of participants and bug activity, there may be trivia and games involved with your participation! We look forward to learning more with you.
If you need access to the All-Terrain Wheelchair, let Ranger Jack or the Visitor Center know so it can be provided to you at no charge.
