Butter Churning Class at the Sadie Ford Heritage Farm [10 AM]

Sat, Aug 29, 2026 at 10:00 AM to Sat, Aug 29, 2026 at 12:00 PM

Event Details

During the 1930s, the Great Depression, people had to make due and provide for their families with what they had. Families would grow their own food, make their own clothes, and even milk the cows for cream to churn butter. While we will not be milking cows, we will be learning how to make butter and flavor it in this hands on class. You will go home with two jars of butter, either plain, salted, savory, or sweet.

Come by the Sadie Ford Heritage Farm and try your hand at churning butter, taste it afterwards, and take some home. Be prepared to churn for at least 20-45 mins. Class will probably take 2 hours.

Cost is for supplies.
