Come join SIR Bethany in making your very own corn husk doll! Once we finish the doll, you will be able to take it home.
This program is recommended for anyone 8 years or older that is interested in learning about the history of corn husk dolls while learning how to make one. Kids 7 years and younger may participate with adult supervision.
Corn Husk Dolls hold a deep cultural and historical significance, especially within Native American traditions and were later passed onto early American settlers. It has been a time-honored pioneer tradition since.
During this program we will learn all about the history and significance of corn husk dolls while creating a corn husk doll that you can take home.
This event will take place in the park’s museum. All supplies will be provided by the park. We will be using corn husks, string, and water for this craft. To prepare for this program please read the attached Essential Eligibility Criteria.
In the event of inclement weather this program will be cancelled.
