Join Seasonal Ranger Sarah on a hike through the CCC camp!

We will be discussing the history of the CCC, their involvement at the park here at Frozen Head, and what life was like at a CCC Camp! We will be meeting at the Visitor Center and walking to the trailhead, the trip will be about a mile and a half on slightly unlevel terrain. Be sure to bring plenty of water, sturdy shoes, bug spray, and whatever else you might need! Free.

Frozen Head State Park encompasses over 24,000 acres of rugged wilderness in the Cumberland Mountains. Named for the 3,324-foot peak often shrouded in ice during winter, the park offers a primitive and unplugged experience for outdoor enthusiasts. Hike to the iconic Lookout Tower, explore cascading waterfalls, and discover the remnants of a historic Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp.
