Backpacking 101 Class

Saturday, 08/08/26 9:00 AM to 12:00 pm

Adult: $60.00 Child: $60.00

This is for you if: You are new to backpacking and want to learn how to get started or already backpack and want to learn additional tips and tricks.

Have you been thinking about getting into backpacking but aren't sure where to start? Or maybe you've already gotten some time on the trail but want to round out your knowledge. In either case we have you covered! Our Backpacking 101 Class introduces you to all you need to know to be able to hit the trail for multiple days so that you can extend your adventure, access remote locations and experience natural wonders beyond those that a day hike affords. Topics include trip planning, gear review and selection, meal planning and everything else you need to know to head to the backcountry!

This is an overview course and does not include any actual backpacking although the class is often paired with a free instructor-led day hike after class concludes for those interested. The class is led by experienced guides and instructors with years of backpacking experience around the world.

Bring: Camp chair, drinking water, clothing suitable for the conditions and any personal backpacking gear you may have (optional). Age 8+.
