      Johnsonville State Historic Park is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. While the park offers a peaceful environment, visitors should exercise caution when exploring the historic sites along the Tennessee River. Visitors should also swim at their own risk.

      Johnsonville State Historic Park Visitor Center is wheelchair accessible, offering exhibits and information about the park's history. Select trails are designed to be accessible, providing opportunities for individuals with mobility devices to explore the park's natural beauty. The park also offers accessible restrooms and parking spaces.

      Tennessee State Parks are dedicated to promoting responsible recreation — encouraging visitors to enjoy the parks’ natural beauty while minimizing their own impact.     Living History

    Step back in time and see history come alive through re-enactments and demonstrations that portray life in Johnsonville during its pivotal years.

    Every year in early November, the intensity of the Civil War comes to life during the Battle of Johnsonville Commemorative Living History Event. Join us throughout the year and during November to explore local history.

      Johnsonville Auditorium

      Average rates: $90–$175
      Capacity: 40 guests

      The Auditorium within the Visitor Center is a great setting for a meeting or small conference. This venue holds 40 people. It has tables and chairs along with a projector, large screen, speakers, and other A/V equipment. There is plenty of parking.

      Johnsonville Conference Room

      Average rates: $70–$125
      Capacity: 12 guests

      Located within the Johnsonville State Historic Park Visitor Center, the Conference Room is perfect for your next meeting or small gathering. The conference table seats 12 people and the room is equipped with a flat screen TV and A/V equipment. There is plenty of parking.

      Half Day Rate: $70
      Full Day Rate: $125

    Visitor Center Gift Shop

    The Visitor Center Gift Shop is the perfect place to pick up a map, learn about the park, or find a souvenir. You’ll find an assortment of apparel and keepsakes to remember your trip to the park.

  • Energy Efficiency

    Added reflective window film to the visitor center windows to reflect sunlight and keep the building cool and energy costs down with no impact to visibility.  

     

  • Recycling/Reuse Program

    The park uses innovate reuse tactics around the park such as reusing broken coffee mugs from the gift shop as planters.  

     

  • Plant Management

    Planted a grove of American Chestnut trees which reduced mowing. Installed a pollinator garden to promote pollinator health in the surrounding areas.  

     

  • Energy Management

    Regularly track park-wide energy consumption and completed an energy audit to identify areas of improvement.  

     

  • Eco-Friendly Practices

    Solar powered gate at maintenance shop entrance. Offer a water bottle filling station. Provide preferred parking for fuel efficient vehicles.  

     

  • Community Programs

    Host clean-up with Keep TN River Beautiful. Run multiple repurposed/upcycled craft workshops during Virtual Jr. Ranger Camp.
