Due to construction associated with the campground renovation on the west side of the park, the trailhead at the Canteen Camp Store is currently inaccessible.

    Picnic Areas

    Enjoy a scenic picnic during your trip to Norris Dam State Park.

    While lunching at the shelter, enjoy views of the surrounding ridges and valleys of East Tennessee. Both Shelter 1 and 2 are wheelchair friendly. Shelter 2 is a reservable wheelchair-friendly pavilion and holds a maximum occupancy of 80 people. This shelter is equipped with an accessible grill, table, and attached restrooms. A non-accessible playground is located nearby.

    Lenoir Museum

    The Lenoir Museum has a diverse collection of artifacts that depict the Appalachian way of life.

    Admission is free. The museum has a wheelchair-friendly entrance and parking. An elevator is available for visitors with wheelchairs to enter the second floor. Learn more about the museum's artifacts and hours of operation by clicking the link below.

    The Tea Room

    The Tea Room is a popular venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions, company dinners, and catered events.

    Built during the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Tea Room offers old-fashioned charm with modern convenience. The building features a two-tier floor plan, cathedral ceilings, a huge stone fireplace, and a large wooden deck that overlooks the woods and when the trees are dormant Norris Lake.

     

     

    Overnight Accommodations

    Keep in mind that limited numbers of ADA-accessible lodge rooms, cabins, and campsites are available, so it is best to make reservations as far in advance as possible. For those who require ADA-accessible accommodation when staying overnight, it is important to make a specific request when booking a reservation and contact us directly at 1-888-867-2757 to reserve an ADA-accessible accommodation.

      Camping at the West Campground

      Reserve a campsite to sleep among a wooded oasis on our 4,000-acre park. RV Sites 37, 39, and 41 are wheelchair-friendly and should be specifically requested when making a reservation. Each site has a picnic table, grill, 20- and/or 50-amp electrical, and water hookups. To book your overnight accommodations and find out more, see the link below.

      Cabins

      Stay the night in a wheelchair-friendly cabin surrounded by a quiet, wooded setting. Located just 30 minutes from downtown Knoxville, our cabins are a great vacation spot.  

      Historic CCC Cabin 1 is wheelchair friendly and includes air conditioning and heat, a picnic table, grill, and fire pit.  

      Standard Cabins 22 and 25 are wheelchair friendly and include a living room, dining room, kitchen, and other amenities. Cabin 25 features an accessible bathroom fitted with a roll-in shower and shower seat. To find out more and book your overnight accommodations, see the link below.
