Due to construction associated with the campground renovation on the west side of the park, the trailhead at the Canteen Camp Store is currently inaccessible.

    Norris Dam State Park Cabins sit on 4,000 acres surrounded by a quiet, wooded setting. The park is located only 30 minutes from downtown Knoxville on the shoreline of Norris Lake and Reservoir.

    Cabin visitors can enjoy recreational boating, skiing, and fishing, as well as the fully equipped Norris Lake marina with boat ramps. If visitors do not own their own boats, pontoon boats are available for rent. Norris Park land activities, such as hiking, birding, biking, and horseback riding, are also available for cabin renters. 

    In addition, nearby attractions such as the Museum of Appalachia, the Lenoir Museum, Green McAdoo Cultural Center, American Museum of Science and Energy, or historic downtown Clinton are within reach in a matter of minutes. Overall, the variety of activities and amenities offered make Norris Dam State Park cabins a great vacation spot for all ages.

      Norris Dam Standard Cabins

      3 bedrooms 2 beds 1 bath
      Norris Dam State Park has 10 standard cabins, each with a living room, dining area, and kitchen. Each cabin has a small porch, a picnic table, a grill, and a fire pit.

      Norris Dam Historic CCC Cabins

      1 bedroom 1 bed 1 bath
      The park has 19 historic CCC cabins. Originally constructed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, each cabin is set in a quiet, wooded setting. They have a combination of living area, kitchenette, bedroom, with some having a separate bedroom off the porch, and a bathroom with a stand-up shower. Amenities include a television with local channels and mini-split units with air conditioning and heat. Each cabin has a picnic table, grill, and fire pit. One bundle of firewood is provided for the first night during the winter season. Additional firewood can be purchased at the park office.

      Norris Dam Historic Cottage

      3 bedrooms 4 beds 1 bath
      The historic cottage is a tranquil space with a rustic stone-cut front porch overlooking the historic district, located on the east side of the park, just past the Tea Room. Historically known as the Park Superintendent's dwelling, the original portion of the house was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s. The Cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room, a living room with a wood-burning fireplace, and a formal dining room. Enjoy the secluded back porch with a private park setting, as well as a fire pit with Adirondack chairs for those cool, crisp evenings. Minimum Stay: 3 nights Pets: No pets allowed Parking: The Historic Cottage has enough parking for five (5) vehicles. 

    All rates subject to change. Taxes and fees are added upon reservation.    

    Please note during the winter season, the heat in the historic CCC cabins can be lower than expected.

    Details You Should Know

    • Minimum Stay

      There is a 2-night minimum stay required. Holidays and other special event times may require longer minimum stays. Peak times require a 3-night minimum stay (including Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day).   

    • Maximum Stay 

      Maximum consecutive stay from March 1 – November 30 in any one cabin is 14 nights. From December 1 – February 29, the maximum stay is 28 nights.   

    • Reservations 

      Reservations may be made through our central reservations system (see phone number above) up to 13 months in advance.   

    • Pet Policy 

      Pets are only permitted in Cabins 21, 28, 29 and 30. $20 per pet/night charge for standard and CCC cabins. Additional charges may apply for any damage that occurs to the carpet or furnishings.   

    Parking Information

    Parking: Cabins 21, 22, 23, 26, 29, and 30 have enough spots to park two vehicles. Cabins 24, 25, 27, and 28 have enough spots to park one vehicle. Additional vehicles/trucks with trailers can be parked on the opposite side of the road.

    Parking for Historic CCC Cabins: All historic CCC Cabins have enough parking for two midsize vehicles.  

    Steps: Cabins 6, 11 and 17 have 3-4 steps leading to a stone landing by the entrance. Hand railings are not present due to their historic nature and caution is advised.  

    Accessibility

    If you wish to reserve an ADA accessible cabin, please contact us (1-888-867-2757). Please be aware that you must make a specific request for an ADA accessible cabin. There are a limited number, so reservations for ADA accessible cabins should be made as far in advance as possible.

    Grist Mill Gift Shop

    The Grist Mill gift shop is the perfect place to pick up a map, learn about the park, or find a souvenir. You’ll find an assortment of apparel and keepsakes to remember your trip to the park.
