    Walking Tours

    Professional park guides offer daily tours of the York home.

    The tour focuses on the York home, where York, a World War I hero, and his wife, Gracie, raised their children after the conclusion of WWI.  

    Tour Start Times: 9:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 2:30 PM 

    Length: 1 hour 

    Cost:
    Ages 13+: $10
    Seniors and veterans: $8 
    Children 6 to 12 years old: $5 
    Children 0 to 6 years old: FREE 
     

    The tour begins and concludes at the park's Visitors Center.  

    York Home Tour Essential Eligibility Criteria

    Visitors should meet the following criteria to comfortably tour the home.

    • Manage personal care in environments without access to electricity and/or running water, including  restroom facilities, for one hour.
    • Move through a two-story home with multiple sets of uneven stairs measuring from seven inches to 10 inches high.
    • Travel over and negotiate uneven, grassy terrain with gradual inclines and declines, moving around the grounds.
    • Navigate home using low light conditions and varying temperatures depending on season.
    • Move through a two-story home with minimal spots to sit for one hour. 

    Upstairs: For those unable to go up the stairwell to view the upstairs of the home, a video of the upstairs may be shown upon request.  

     

    Driving Tour of Wolf River Valley

    The park offers a paid driving tour of the Wolf River Valley every Saturday and Sunday at 12:00 noon. Departing from the Visitor Center, participants will follow the park guide in their own vehicle to the various locations, with some minimal walking involved at most of the stops. Stops include the original home site and the York Bible School.  

    Tour Start Time: 12:00 PM noon 

    Cost: 
    Ages 13+: $15 
    Seniors and veterans: $10 
    Children ages 6-12: $10 
    Children ages 0-6: FREE 
     

    The tour begins and concludes at the park's Visitors Center.

    Driving Tour Essential Eligibility Criteria

    Visitors should meet the following criteria to comfortably tour the property.

    • At least one participant per group should be of age and licensed to operate a motor vehicle.
    • Operate a motor vehicle and obey applicable road signs.
    • Enter and exit vehicle at multiple tour stops on uneven terrain.
    • Tolerate exposure to the elements including sun, light rain, wind, and hot/cold temperatures for up to one hour.
    • Navigate grassy and uneven terrain at various stops.
    • Manage personal care in environments without access to electricity and/or running water, including restroom facilities, for one hour.
