Program Description:

Discover the fascinating world of owls during this special evening program with Owl Ridge Raptor Center! We’ll begin with a presentation featuring live education owls and learn about their unique adaptations, behaviors, and important roles in the ecosystem. Then, we’ll head out on a nighttime hike to listen for calls and look for signs of wild owls that may be active after dark. This is a great opportunity to learn about these elusive nighttime hunters and experience the park after sunset.

This program is recommended for adults and families with older children who enjoy wildlife and nighttime outdoor activities. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 5:00 PM. Be prepared to walk up to 2 miles over both paved and unpaved surfaces in low-light conditions. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The program will include an indoor presentation with live education owls followed by a guided night hike. Please note that sightings and calls from wild owls are not guaranteed.

The cost of this program is $12 per participant. Children under 5 are free with a paying adult.

Please come prepared with good walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a water bottle. A flashlight or headlamp is recommended for navigating the trail, but please be prepared to turn off lights when listening for owls. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
