Campgrounds, Baseball Field, and Volleyball Court Closed for Renovations

Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park

Due to structural renovations, the Happy Hollow and Lakefront Campgrounds, the baseball field, and the volleyball court are closed. We anticipate a reopening of all areas in early 2027. Please watch our alerts and our social media accounts for the most updated information.

To get the most direct route to our Park Office when using GPS, please use the park address - 1825 Pilot Knob Road Eva, TN 38333. If you use the park name, it sends you to the back gate which is the long route, depending on your starting point, and there is no cell phone reception.

    Park Pavilions

    Day-Use Only 

    Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park has a total of five pavilions that may be reserved for your next event or gathering.  

    Depending upon the shelter, access to a playground, a sand volleyball court, a ball field, or a swimming area may be nearby. Reservations may be made online or by calling the park. Pavilions may be reserved online up to one year in advance with a paid reservation fee.  

    There is a $5 cancellation fee for picnic shelter or pavilion reservations cancelled eight days or more in advance of the reserved date. Reservations cancelled seven days or less in advance of the reserved date forfeit all paid fees. 

    Amenities: picnic tables, a grill, and some have access to restrooms.  
    Capacity: 20 - 60 
    Rates: $18 - $36

  • Increase Energy Efficiency

    Installed window film to reflect sunlight, added LED lighting, replaced HVAC with high-efficiency unit, incorporated tankless water heaters, equipped cabins with 16 SEER HVAC systems. Added underpinnings to buildings to reduce drafts.  

  • Improve Recycling Efforts

    Added BearSaver recycling bins throughout park, incorporated occupancy sensors and waterless urinals, installed sensor-activated sinks, hand dryers and toilets in park restrooms.  

  • Audit and Evaluate

    Work with a certified energy manager to reduce energy costs and use, track park-wide energy use to identify areas for improvement, participate in the TVA Green Power Switch program.  

  • Manage Natural Habitats Wisely

    Maintain habitat boxes for bats, birds, owls, wood ducks and snakes, participate in the Tennessee State Parks Honey Project. Reuse materials to eliminate trash and waste through upcycling, participate in TVA water quality training, replaced mowed areas with native grass fields.
