Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park

The bridge at Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic due to construction activity.

    Accessible Overlooks

    View the Duck River from one of our accessible overlooks located by the museum and Visitor Center.

    One of the Duck River viewpoints features an awning for a shaded experience with paved access. The other viewpoint is considered paved, but some visitors may be unable to see over the height of the wall. This overlook also offers views of Big Hole Falls from atop the museum.

    Stop by the Visitor Center to grab a park map and begin exploring the 782-acre historic park.

    Travel back in time by viewing Tennessee’s prehistoric heritage at the museum. The museum is wheelchair-friendly with accessible parking available.  

    Afterward, browse the gift shop for a souvenir with choices including Tennessee State Park merchandise and books on archaeology and Native American culture.  

    Please note that the door to enter the Visitor Center does not have push-button access.

    Overnight Accommodations

    Reserve a campsite among the trees with amenities including a grill, fire ring, and picnic table on a hard surface pad.

    Each site offers electrical and water hookups with a dump station on site. RV Sites 25, 35, and 41 are wheelchair friendly and should be specifically requested when making a reservation.

    A wheelchair-friendly bathhouse is located near site 25 and includes a paved path to each site. Please note that this bathhouse is closed during the winter months from December through February. To book your overnight accommodations and find out more, see the link below. 

    Reserve Early: Keep in mind that limited numbers of ADA-accessible campsites are available. Make reservations as far in advance as possible and make the request when reserving. Contact us at 1-888-867-2757 for more information.
