Detour required for Park Access

T.O. Fuller State Park

Due to I-55 construction/exit ramp bridge demolition, exit #7 (Third Street/Hwy 61) will be closed. Traffic congestion is expected, so park visitors are encouraged to use Exit #8 (New Horn Lake Road) for Mitchell Road access and exit #9 (Mallory Avenue) for Plant Road access to T.O. Fuller State Park from I-55.

    T.O. Fuller State Park offers a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for events, meetings, and group gatherings. Options include a large event center, an outdoor classroom, and multiple reservable picnic shelters, each with access to basic amenities and nearby recreation areas.

      T.O. Fuller Shelby Bluff Center

      Average rates: $310–$550
      Capacity: 180 guests

      The Shelby Bluff Center at T.O. Fuller State Park is a popular venue for weddings, meetings, and reunions. The space seats 180 people. Folding tables and chairs and central air and heat are provided.

      Half Day Rate: $310
      Monday - Thursday rate: $425
      Friday - Sunday rate: $550

      T.O. Fuller Outdoor Classroom

      Average rates: $80–$150
      Capacity: 100 guests

      The Outdoor Classroom at T.O. Fuller accommodates 100 people and is available on a full day or half day basis. Located at the Interpretive Center, the Outdoor Classroom is a perfect location for your educational event, speaker series, Sierra Club meeting, or educational club meeting. 

      Half Day Rate: $80
      Monday - Thursday rate: $150
      Friday - Sunday rate: $150

    Pavilions

    T.O. Fuller State Park has 4 picnic shelters/pavilions that may be reserved for your next event or gathering. Depending on the shelter, the maximum capacity ranges from 50 to 120 people. The shelters are equipped with picnic tables, a grill and access to restrooms. Depending upon the shelter, access to a playground, tennis courts, sand volleyball court or basketball court are nearby.

    Full-day shelter reservations may be made online or by calling the park.     

    Picnic shelters or pavilions may be reserved online up to one year in advance with a paid reservation fee. There is a $5 cancellation fee for picnic shelter or pavilion reservations cancelled 8 days or more in advance of the reserved date. Reservations cancelled 7 days or less in advance of the reserved date forfeit all paid fees.

      The shelters are equipped with picnic tables, a grill and access to restrooms. Depending upon the shelter, access to a playground, tennis courts, sand volleyball court or basketball court are nearby.

      February 17, 2021  |  As we celebrate Black History Month throughout February, we also recognize the ties to our cultural heritage. Shared and equitable access to our parks is directly tied to our mission to preserve our natural landscape and the history behind it. T. O. Fuller State Park was established for the state’s African American population in an age when segregation barred equal access to the landscape.
