Energy Efficiency
A state-of-the-art interpretive center was completed in 2016 demonstrating energy efficiency with the use of photovoltaic cells and geothermal heating and cooling. Exhibits are dedicated to energy efficiency, wildlife, the history of the park, and the park’s namesake, T.O. Fuller.
Eco-Friendly Practices
The interpretive center collects rainwater from the roof into a cistern to water plants. Reduce erosion by using tent pads, man-made surfaces that protect the ground from damage by repeatedly setting up a tent in the same spot.
Protect Habitats
Enhance the ecosystem through controlled burns, butterfly gardens and encouraging growth of native grasses and vegetation. Built a community garden in the park where neighbors can grow fresh fruits and vegetables.
