    1. Standing Stone State Park

    Location: Hilham, TN - 40 minutes north of Cookeville

    Nestled in the middle of 11,000-acres of state forest, you'll find a village of cabins at Standing Stone State Park. Amongst those, 10 cabins constructed by the Works Progress Administration offer modern touches across the appliances while preserving the rustic charm of stone fireplaces and wooden interiors.

      Rustic WPA Cabins

      The refinished hardwood floors and stone gas log fireplaces give these cabin interiors a cozy feel that's perfect for winter. Below the cabin village rests Kelly Lake along with hiking trails, paddling rentals, and the iconic swinging bridge to explore.

    2. Norris Dam State Park

    Location: Rocky Top, TN - 30 minutes northwest of Knoxville.

    Just 30 minutes from downtown Knoxville, the historic cabins at Norris Dam State Park sit high on a ridge above the sparkling reservoir. The park offers two renovated historic cabin types, the historic CCC cabins, and the historic cottage.

      Historic CCC Cabins

      The park's 19 historic cabins were originally constructed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. They offer the ideal hideaway for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of East Tennessee.

      The Historic Cottage

      The one historic cottage at the park is a tranquil space that features a rustic stone cut front porch overlooking the historic district. Step back in time while enjoying the modern amenities, such as a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room, living room with wood-burning fireplace, formal dining room, and two bedrooms.

    3. Chickasaw State Park

    Location: Henderson, TN - 30 minutes south of Jackson, TN. 1.5 hours northeast of Memphis.

    Chickasaw State Park is located on the Coastal Plain of West, TN in Henderson, about 30 minutes south of Jackson, TN. Residents of Florance, AL, Oxford, MS, or Memphis, TN can arrive at the park in under two hours. The park offers seven restored historic cabins that sit on a quiet loop by the lake. The Works Progress Administration (WPA) built these historic cabins in the 1930s.

      Historic WPA Cabins

      Cabins #1–7 are the historic cabins at the park. They are closest to the lake and have received major restorations, including all new furniture, finishes, and appliances.

      Cabin #1

      This cabin stands out because it's the only traditional log cabin at the park. It's been restored and updated with new furniture, bedding, appliances, finishings, and even a new patio.

      Cabin #2 - #4, #6, and #7

      These cabins may not be built of logs, but they still offer that cozy cabin feel. A new coat of white paint brightens the rooms and accents the beautiful dark wood near the base. New bedding, furniture, appliances, finishings, and patios have transformed these cabins into modern oases with historic charm.

      Cabin #5

      This cabin is ADA compliant and sits on the back corner of the cabin loop close to the lake. This cabin sleeps up to four comfortably. The main bedroom features a cozy wood-burning fireplace (wood is provided) and a queen-sized bed.

    4. Cumberland Mountain State Park

    Location: Crossville, TN - 45 minutes southeast of Cookeville. 2 hours east of Nashville.

    This entire park exists as a testament to the beauty and architectural achievements of the Civilian Conservation Corps. There are three historic cabin types to explore, The Mill House, the historic CCC cabins, and Coon Hollow.

      The Mill House

      If you're looking for a truly unique experience, the Mill House cabin sits right in front of the iconic footbridge and rushing creek waters. This historic building is now equipped with heat and air, new appliances, and beautiful furnishings.

      Historic CCC Cabins

      The 11 historic CCC cabins truly capture the park's beauty and heritage with wood paneling, a screened-in porch, and beautiful updates such as new appliances and furniture.

      Coon Hollow Cabin

      Coon Hollow is another cabin offering a one-of-a-kind experience perfect for families. This stone cabin offers cozy wood interiors with a newly renovated kitchen and new furniture.

    5. Pickett CCC Memorial State Park

    Location: Jamestown, TN - One hour north of Crossville near the Kentucky border

    The cabins at Pickett Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Memorial State Park sit amongst the park's iconic features like the tranquil lake, large stone outcroppings, and evergreen foliage. Choose from five rustic CCC cabins made of either stone or wood panels that have all been upgraded with unique new furniture, appliances, and fixtures throughout. When you're not relaxing on the screened-in porch or roasting marshmallows over the wood-burning fireplace, explore the park's hiking trails that lead to inspiring sites like caves and overlooks.

    6. Cedars of Lebanon State Park

    Location: Lebanon, TN - 45 minutes east of Nashville


    Cedars of Lebanon State Park is located just outside of Nashville, making it close enough to downtown to enjoy the sights and attractions of the city while remaining the perfect place to escape and relax in the rolling hills and cedar forests of Middle Tennessee. The hiking, horseback trails, disc golf course, multiple playgrounds, and historic architecture make it a great vacation spot for all ages. The Ricketts historical cabin is perfect for newlyweds, anniversaries, or a special occasion getaway. With its rustic log cabin look tucked in the trees and cozy setup, you won't be disappointed! Built in the 1930s, it's set up for two people with one common room with a king-size bed, chairs, TV, electric log fireplace, full kitchen, and a bathroom. You can enjoy relaxing on the cedar porch in rocking chairs while watching for passing deer and birds.

      Ricketts Historic Cabin
