Ongoing Construction at Henry Horton State Park

Henry Horton State Park

In anticipation of our new lodge opening, there will be a significant impact on the roads and traffic patterns within Henry Horton State Park. We ask that visitors please use caution and follow all road signs while traveling throughout the park's day-use area. A fence will surround the main construction area. 

Guests visiting the Visitor Center, Restaurant, Cabins, Shelters, and Conference Hall should expect modified traffic flow and clearly marked detour routes. With construction underway, guests may experience periods of loud construction noise.

Please note:

  • Some roads in the lodge area are temporarily closed.
  • All guests should follow posted DETOUR signage throughout the park.
  • Traffic patterns near the Lodge, Visitor Center, and Day-Use Parking have been adjusted.
  • A construction fence surrounds active work zones.
  • Guests may experience periods of loud construction noise.
  • Please drive slowly and use extra caution when traveling through the park.

Our team will be on-site assisting with directions and parking adjustments to help make your visit as smooth as possible.

      Henry Horton Duck River Room

      Average rates: $300–$500
      Capacity: 72 guests
      Ideal for business groups, instructional classes, and semi-formal gatherings.

      This space is perfect for your dream outdoor wedding! It features a large grassy area overlooking the Duck River. With the spectacular natural setting, this space can be customized based on specific event needs.

    Pavilions

    Henry Horton State Park has four picnic shelters/pavilions that may be reserved for your next event or gathering. Depending on the shelter, the maximum capacity ranges from 50 to 150 people. The shelters are equipped with picnic tables, and some have a grill and access to restrooms. 

    Please note that pavilions with access to restrooms will have a seasonal closure of the water and restrooms. Please view current alerts for the most updated information.

    Full-day shelter reservations may be made online or by calling the park. When reserved, shelters are available from 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM. 

    Picnic shelters or pavilions may be reserved online up to one year in advance with a paid reservation fee. There is a $5 cancellation fee for picnic shelter or pavilion reservations canceled eight days or more in advance of the reserved date. Reservations canceled seven days or less in advance of the reserved date forfeit all paid fees.

    Note: Individuals or groups working with outside vendors or wishing to bring in and set up additional structures, such as tents, bouncy houses, etc., must contact the park office for shelter reservations and ensure that appropriate permits and liability forms are completed.

      This shelter is a nice place for a small gathering and features a fireplace and access to water and electricity.

      Henry Horton Shelter 2

      Capacity: 150 guests

      The A-Frame Shelter is the most prominent on the park and has access to water and electricity.

      Henry Horton Shelter 3

      This picnic pavilion has a large fire pit in the the center and access to water, electricity, and a nearby restroom.

      Henry Horton Shelter 4

      Henry Horton Skeet Range Shelter

      Capacity: 60 guests

      The Skeet Range Shelter is located at the Henry Horton Multi-Sport Facility. Picnic tables, grills, and restrooms are available at this shelter. 

    Rates subject to change. Taxes and fees are added upon reservation.

    Conference Hall

    Located near the Lodge at Henry Horton, the conference center and recreation lodge is ideal for weddings, birthday parties, and small conferences. With great exterior space and a wood-burning fireplace, the Conference Hall has a kitchen, restrooms and can accommodate up to 200 guests. The number of guests may vary based on the set-up. The Conference Hall also has a stage at the front and is set just across the parking lot from Lodge Henry Horton.

    Includes: tables, chairs, setup, cleanup

    The Lodge at Henry Horton provides on-site lodging, dining, and catering options that allow groups to enjoy the outdoors without sacrificing the convenience of venue rentals in metropolitan areas.
