Due to erosion issues, One Way Road, past the campground at Meeman-Shelby, is closed. Please don't try to access these areas for your safety.

    Meeman-Shelby Forest offers a group camp located on 25-acre Piersol Lake.  
    The camp accommodates groups up to 140 with indoor and outdoor experiences available.

    Group Camp Details

    Sunday - Thursday: $403 | up to 140 people | minimum of 2 nights; 6 nights during the summer season 
    Friday - Saturday: $483 | up to 140 people | minimum of 2 nights; 6 nights during the summer season 

    The Piersol Group Camp at Meeman-Shelby Forest is located on 25-acre Piersol Lake. This group camp can accommodate up to 140 people. Available from April to October, the camp is rented by the week only during the summer months, and on weekends at other times. A deposit is required; reservations should be made well in advance. 

    All rates are subject to change. Taxes and fees are added upon reservation.

      Main Campground

      The park campground has campsites for RV and tent camping, each equipped with a table, grill, electrical and water hookups. Several campsites also feature sewer hookups, but for sites without the hookup, a dump station is available. Centrally located near the campground, visitors can enjoy a playground with a three-level tower for kids to explore, a community fire pit and pavilion, and multiple bathhouses.

       

      Three primitive group campsites are available at Meeman-Shelby Forest. These sites feature a fire ring and a large, grassy area for tent camping.

      Meeman-Shelby Rustic Cabins

      2 bedrooms 4 beds 1 bath
      Meeman-Shelby Forest has six rustic cabins situated along the shoreline of Poplar Tree Lake in a heavily wooded section of the park. These cozy cabins are ideal for family vacations, a couples' weekend, fishing trip, or a girls' getaway. The Meeman-Shelby Forest cabins are completely equipped for housekeeping with a fully equipped kitchen. Linens are provided. Firewood is supplied during the winter months.

    Firewood Policy 

    Tennessee State Parks asks that ALL campfires be made with heat-treated wood or downed wood collected inside the park, near the campsite. Please refrain from bringing untreated wood into the park.
