Due to damage from Winter Storm Fern, the dog park at Pickwick Landing will be closed until further notice.

    Safety and Accessibility

    • Safety  

      Pickwick Landing State Park is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. We encourage visitors to be aware of their surroundings, especially near the dam and in areas with lake or marina traffic. Please be aware of the spillway and generator schedule. Swim in designated areas only, use paddle sports near the shoreline, and always wear a personal flotation device. Also, please note that alcoholic beverages are not allowed in day-use areas.

      Pickwick Landing State Park strives to be accessible to all visitors. We offer an all-terrain wheelchair available to reserve free of charge, ensuring that everyone can explore and enjoy the park's natural beauty. We have an accessible boat dock, ADA compliant aviary, adult changing tables, an accessible kayak launch, and a limited number of accessible cabins and camping accommodations.

      Tennessee State Parks are dedicated to promoting responsible recreation — encouraging visitors to enjoy the parks’ natural beauty while minimizing their own impact.     Mother's Day Lunch at Pickwick Landing

    Join the Restaurant at Pickwick Landing for a Mother's Day buffet that's sure to make her day. The Restaurant will serve favorites like fried catfish, macaroni and cheese, and banana pudding. After your lunch, treat mom to a walk around the lake!

    Reservations are not necessary, but encouraged for parties of eight or more.

      Bird Sanctuary  

      Discover Pickwick Landing State Park's popular Aviary, a haven for bird enthusiasts and nature lovers. Observe a variety of bird species in a natural setting. Don't miss the weekly raptor feedings, a unique opportunity to witness these magnificent birds of prey up close. The Aviary is located near the Reptile Room, making it a perfect stop for a family-friendly exploration of Tennessee wildlife.

      The Paws Landing Dog Park is located inside the park near the Lodge. It is open to park visitors and overnight guests who obtain a Paws Pass from the park.

    Prevent water pollution with a Certified Clean Marina. Coordinate regular volunteer litter pickup activities. Offer trash and recycling dumpsters strategically placed in campgrounds.  

  • EV Charging Stations

    Installed EV charging stations at the Lodge at Pickwick Landing. 

  • Green Hospitality Certified

    Renovated the Lodge in 2020, gaining TN Green Hospitality certification for minimizing waste and reducing energy consumption.  

  • Protect Habitats

    Use native plants in butterfly gardens and landscaping. Include native tree replanting for forest management.  

  • Eco-Friendly Practices

    Aid water filtration with permeable pavement in cabin areas. Maintain golf course as Audubon and Groundwater Guardian certified.
