The Park Museum is designed to fit the landscape of what Pinson would have looked like during its original construction in the Middle Woodland Period ( 200 B.C. to 500 A .D.). The museum includes a gallery of artifacts and exhibits that help tell the story of prehistoric Tennessee and express the significance of Pinson Mounds to Indigenous Peoples. • Energy Efficiency

Conducted an energy audit and track park-wide energy usage to identify areas for improvement. Upgraded to LED lighting, added a sun-reflecting white roof, upgrading to CECO Trio-E doors made in Milan, Tennessee.

  • Improved Camp

Upgraded the Group Camp to a tankless propane water heater that only heats water as needed instead of constantly running to keep a large tank continuously hot.

  • Protect Habitats

Use recycled wood from fallen park trees for trail surface and enhance ecosystem health with beekeeping, butterfly gardens, and encouraging native plant growth.

  • Eco-Friendly Practices

Facilitate recycling and litter pickups throughout the year and as a component of the Junior Ranger summer program.
