Allow 5 - 8 hours for day hikes at a steady pace and start early, especially for Virgin Falls hikes (from either Rylander Cascades Trail or Scott's Gulf Road). Park management advises against beginning longer hikes after 2:00 PM, and carrying a small headlight is recommended in case of unexpected delays.

Tennessee State Parks are dedicated to promoting responsible recreation — encouraging visitors to enjoy the parks’ natural beauty while minimizing their own impact.
