    Accessible Paddling Launches

    Tennessee State Parks are committed to enabling as many visitors as possible to explore and experience the outdoors.

    One of our constant improvements is adding accessible paddling launches throughout the parks. We invite you find a park that provides accessible paddling launches today!

    National Safe Boating Week

    Boating and paddling are exceptional ways to experience the beauty of Tennessee State Parks.

    With countless people traversing our waterways each year, safe boating and paddling are more important than ever. That's why each year we join people across the country in their effort to promote boating and paddling safety during National Safe Boating Week, May 16-22, 2026. From hands-on Kayak 101 Courses to virtual educational videos, we invite you to learn how you can be a safe and responsible boater.

    Kayaking 101 Events

    Do you want to gain the skills and confidence to kayak this summer? Tennessee State Parks and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency are teaming up with paddlesports leaders across the state to offer low-cost beginner kayaking classes at 11 state parks across Tennessee during National Safe Boating Week.

    On Saturday, May 16th, volunteer instructors certified by the American Canoe Association will teach you the basics of kayaking for only $15. Plus, an adaptable kayaking 101 course will be taught at Booker T. Washington State Park, and a kayak fishing 101 course will be taught at Long Hunter State Park for the same price. This is a great deal since these classes typically cost anywhere between $75 and $150. There are only 15 slots per class, so sign up as soon as possible at the link below!
