Chickasaw Group Camp and Group Lodge

  • Chickasaw State Park has two great options for group getaways, whether you're planning a large retreat or a more close-knit gathering.

    The Lake Lajoie Group Camp can host up to 123 guests in historic cabins with a full mess hall, pavilions, lake access, and plenty of room for activities. For smaller groups, the Group Lodge accommodates up to 36 people with divided bunk quarters, a full kitchen-dining space, and year-round availability. Both locations provide practical amenities with plenty of room to relax.

    Group Camp

    Sunday - Thursday: $482 | up to 123 people | minimum of 2 nights; 3 nights on holidays 
    Friday - Saturday: $543 | up to 123 people | minimum of 2 nights; 3 nights on holidays 

    The Lake Lajoie Group Camp is located approximately eight miles west of the main park and is available for rental from April through October. The camp accommodates up to 123 people in 17 historic WPA cabins, one being the "Cooks Cabin". The camp includes a mess hall with a professional kitchen, two bathhouses, private swimming on the lake, and picnic pavilions.

    Sunday - Thursday: $241 per night
    Friday - Saturday: $362 per night

    The Group Lodge accommodates 36 people and is open year-round. A two-night minimum is standard. A three-night minimum is required on holidays. 

    All rates are subject to change. Taxes and fees are added upon reservation.

    Lake Lajoie Group Camp Details

    The mess hall is equipped with tables and chairs, and dining utensils. All kitchen appliances and cooking utensils are provided. A large lighted pavilion, four smaller pavilions, a sand volleyball court, and a softball field are located at the camp. Rental of the camp also includes the use of Lake LaJoie with swimming and fishing. Private boats are allowed in Lake LaJoie, but the use of gasoline motors is prohibited. Electric trolling motors are allowed.

    Thirteen of the cabins have bunk beds to sleep eight people. Two of the cabins are ADA-accessible and have bunk beds to sleep seven people. The cook's cabin will sleep six people. No heating is provided; however, there is a window unit air conditioning in each bunk cabin as well as the cook’s cabin. 

    Bed linens, towels, pillows, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, food, and medicinal supplies are not provided. Groups are responsible for the cleanup at departure. Reservations and deposit are required.

    Chickasaw Group Lodge 

    The Group Lodge features 36 bunk beds in divided quarters and sleeps 18 people to a room. The kitchen/dining area may be used as a meeting place. Central heat and air are provided, as well as dishes, utensils, microwave, icemaker, freezers, refrigerator, and stove. Groups must supply their own linens.

      Chickasaw Standard Cabins

      2 bedrooms 3 beds 1 bath
      Chickasaw offers 6 standard cabins nestled among tall pines, with easy access to Lake Placid. The kitchens include full-sized appliances and utensils for cooking and serving. All of your bed and bath linens are provided. These items can be exchanged out for new linens by contacting our housekeeping staff. The main living area has a wood-burning fireplace. Wood is provided from October to March. The cabin also contains a TV with satellite service and a telephone.

      Chickasaw Historic WPA Cabins

      Chickasaw has 7 one-bedroom historic Works Progress Administration (WPA) cabins nestled among tall pines and with easy access to Lake Placid. Linens can be exchanged by contacting the housekeeping staff.   Wood is provided from October to March.

      Chickasaw Tent Campground

      The tent campground offers sites specifically for tent campers, with some sites offering views of the beautiful lake. Each site has a picnic table and grill. Water is available. A modern bathhouse provides hot showers and restroom facilities. The campground also offers a playground.

      Chickasaw Wrangler Campground

      The wrangler campground is designed for visitors traveling with horses. Each site has water and electrical hookups. A bathhouse provides hot showers and restroom facilities. The campground also offers a playground.

    Firewood Policy 

    Tennessee State Parks asks that ALL campfires be made with heat-treated wood or downed wood collected inside the park, near the campsite. Please refrain from bringing untreated wood into the park.
