    Set within the rolling ridges and wooded landscapes of East Tennessee, the group camp provides a peaceful setting where guests can come together, unplug, and enjoy time outdoors. With easy access to hiking trails, lake views, and open spaces for group activities, it’s an ideal choice for retreats, camps, reunions, and organized stays that want both shared spaces and a true park experience—without sacrificing convenience or comfort.

    Group Camp Details

    Sunday - Thursday: $152 | up to 120 people | minimum of 2 nights; 6 nights during the summer season | additional $2 per person over 70 people

    Friday - Saturday: $246 | up to 120 people | minimum of 2 nights; 6 nights during the summer season | additional $2 per person over 70 people

    Accommodating up to 120 persons, the group camp has 19 screened-in bunkhouses, sleeping six to eight each. 

    Two of the bunkhouses and one bathhouse are ADA-accessible. Reservations may be made two years in advance, and a deposit is required at the time of reservation.

    The base price listed is based on groups of up to 70 guests. Each additional guest, up to the capacity of 120 allotted in the camp, will be an additional $2 per person.

     

    All rates are subject to change. Taxes and fees are added upon reservation.

    Explore our additional group options! You’ll find individual cabin rentals on the shoreline of Norris Lake tucked-away on the ridge offering expansive views of the sparkling waters. We also have both backcountry and regular tent and RV options at our regular camping ground.

      Big Ridge Rustic Studio Cabins

      Come enjoy a lakeside vacation rental at Big Ridge State Park. Visitors will enjoy hiking on the ridges overlooking Norris Lake and spending time out on the water. Located just north of Knoxville, this is the perfect place to enjoy the beauty and history of East Tennessee. The park has 20 one-room rustic cabins that are open from April 1 through October 31. The cabins were built in 1936 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and retain the charm and design of that time. Five cabins are located on the lakeside, and 15 sit on the ridge. Please note: daily housekeeping services are not available.

      Big Ridge Campground

      Big Ridge has campsites on or near Norris Lake to accommodate RVs, trailers, and tent campers. RV campsites have a paved slip and a soft gravel pad and can accommodate a unit up to 35 feet, with some sites able to accommodate 45 feet. Each site has water and electrical hookups, a picnic table, and a grill. A dumping station is provided, along with three bathhouses with restrooms and hot shower facilities.

    Firewood Policy 

    Tennessee State Parks asks that ALL campfires be made with heat-treated wood or downed wood collected inside the park, near the campsite. Please refrain from bringing untreated wood into the park.
