    Where scenic Appalachian landscapes meet flexible indoor and outdoor venues. From a rustic lakeside recreation hall to reservable picnic shelters and spacious group-friendly areas, Big Ridge offers a variety of options for weddings, reunions, celebrations, and casual get-togethers. With year-round availability, nearby camping, and easy access to hiking trails and lake views, it’s an ideal setting for events that blend connection, comfort, and the natural beauty of East Tennessee.

      Big Ridge Recreation Hall

      Average rates: $190–$375
      Capacity: 70 guests

      Ideal for weddings, reunions, and other events, the Recreation Hall at Big Ridge State Park is a versatile event and meeting venue that can accommodate 70  people, depending on the setup of the room.

      The rustic log-and-stone hall overlooks Big Ridge Lake and has a large adjacent flagstone patio. Immediately below the hall is the amphitheater. 

      The hall is 25' x 41' and has a 14-foot ceiling.  

      Amenities: large stone fireplace, tables and chairs, small kitchen for limited food preparation and cleanup, air conditioning.  
      Minimum Rental: 1 Day 

      There is no Internet accessibility.  

      Reservations may be made two years in advance. Please contact the park office directly for detailed pricing, reservations, and more information

      Big Ridge Grist Mill Area

      Capacity: 200 guests

      Flat, grassy area located uphill from the Park Office. Restrooms available. Outside rentals allowed.

    Pavilions

    Big Ridge State Park has four picnic shelters/pavilions that may be reserved for your next event or gathering. The maximum capacity for each is 25 people. The shelters are equipped with picnic tables and a grill and one shelter has access to restrooms. 

    Full day shelter reservations may be made online or by calling the park.     

    Picnic shelters or pavilions may be reserved online up to one year in advance with a paid reservation fee.There is a $5 cancellation fee for picnic shelter or pavilion reservations cancelled eight days or more in advance of the reserved date. Reservations cancelled seven days or less in advance of the reserved date forfeit all paid fees.

    Group Stays

    Big Ridge's group camp accommodates up to 120 persons, with 19 open air, screened-in bunkhouses, sleeping six to eight each. 

    Reservations may be made two years in advance, and a deposit is required at the time of reservation.
